Wink Remebering how I Met me Krewe mate Sam

Here I was, in my own little world of peace and thoughts when I started remembering when I met my fellow Krewe mates. Me Krewe mates are like my adopted fambly in game and I know that they are there to listen when I needed to talk. One particular Krewe mate stood out more than most. I laugh all the time when I think about how I met (at the time, a lowly lvl 20 pirate, with no guild, trying to do his nades quest all by himself) Samule Sworddogger.

Sam (as we all call him in the Krewe) was up at the fort on PDF, trying so hard to do his nades quest alone.

Me, I was out roaming the islands, looking for a young pirate in need of help and possibley looking for the "just right guild" to join. I ventured over to PDF (PR wasnt working for me at teh time) to see if anyone was there that might need a helping hand. Up the stairs I went looking for the needing pirate when I noticed a young pirate giving his all to the Navy guards that were attacking him. Now at first, I just stood back and observed (sry Sam). Here was the only pirate here working as hard as he could all by his lonesome.

After the Navy sent the poor guy to jail (sry again buddy, had to see what ya had in ya), I decided I would make my known. So, I went over to the young pirate and asked him if he could use a healing hand. "Sure, that would be great if you dont mind." "Not at all my friend."

I noticed his Not. lvl and asked if he was working on his nades quest which he replied he was. Having done and helped out with this quest numerous times, I figured it wouldnt hurt at all to lend the poor chap a hand. After telling young Sam that I had done the quest several times, I was more than happy to help him out. As we talked, I found out he was doing the quest (or at least trying to do the quest) alone because he had no friends on to help him with it. So, being the lovable pirate that I am, I offered him a friendship request and told him that I would help him in anyway I could and that I was always on to help.

As we talked, the question I so wanted to ask him, finally came to the top. "Sam" I said, "May I ask you a question?" 'Sure" Sam replied. " I said well "I noticed you have no guild, why is that?"

Sam replied to me that he was in a guild for a short time but he left it because 1.) no one was ever on, 2.) when they were on, no one wanted to help others out, 3.) they were slightly rude when they were asked of help and (here the kicker of all excuses he gave me) 4.) with that experience, he found being in a guild pointless and a waste of time. kk...you can pick your jaws up now off the floor

I was completely shocked by the last answer young Sam gave me, so I took it on myself to change his mind about guilds (and I am so glad I did). I replied back to the young pirate that not all guilds were pointless and a waste of time. I told him that there were guilds out there that were fun and helpful. I then began to explain to him about the Krewe. I told him of all the fun that we have doing our guild events, our awesome guild parties, the wacky jokes that our beloved GM and loveable Capt. Nightwolf told us all the time.

I explained to him how fambly and game oriented we were and that it was our goal to help all pirates, young or old out in game. After talking to Sam for about 10 - 15 minutes, I told Sam I had him an offer....to give the Krewe a try for 1 week and if we didnt do all that I said we did, there would be no hard feelings if he decided to leave.

After giving it some thought (a whole 2 seconds worth), Sam agreed to come to the Krewe for a trail run and to see if I could change his mind (he didnt think that I could change his mind in fact). A just over a year later, Sam is still in the Krewe and one of the Krewe's top IC (Inner Circle) Officer. Sam has proven his self to the Krewe over and over (and so has the rest of 'em in fact). Whenever a Krewe mate needs help, Sam is one of the first to jump over and help (if he on at the time). He has truly been a great friend and guild mate that I could ever ask for.

So Sam, just got one question for ya mate............. DO YA STILL THINK GUILDS ARE POINTLESS AND A WASTE OF TIME?

lolz

sry if this turned out longer than expected but I just wanted to share the story with all of you and to let you young pirates who have trouble with your guild, that not all guilds are alike. It just takes time to find just the right one so dont give up if the first one dont work for ya.
