My opion on skill points
To tell you the truth, picking skill points out for sailing aint easy!!! I've gone atleast 3 times now to retrain skills for sailing, and that aint pretty either, so its best to pick carefully. The best way to have sailing hooked up though is tough. It really matters on how you wish to use your character(a.k.a. pirate). For example, if you wish to make alot of gold real quick, then you want to have alot of points in treasuresense, takecover, and broadsides so you can blast the enemy ship to bits in a agreeable amount of time =D(well, thats the way I like to do it lol). Also, a few points in Full sail and Ramming speed couldn't hurt.
Another good example, or opion, I have for a good selection of skill points is if you are a big fan of SVS. I do a fair share of SVS, and I have learned quite alot to see what would be the best selection of skill points for sailing. So, in SVS, to me, it's all about speed, and defense. The offense will be coming from your crewmates aboard your ship, so that already tells you that you don't need many skill points in broadsides. To tell you the truth, having maxed out windcatcher is better than having a maxed out full sail. It's best to have atleast three points in fullsail so you can save a couple for other skills, and a few in rammingspeed could do the trick. Next, it would help to have a good amount in takecover and openfire, or even better, make them have the same amount of skillpoints in them. But since you have made your character a good battle warrior, you wont beable to get plunders worth. So it's always best to do this option with an extra character.
So, now that you see my opion, I hope it will help you with making a right choice of choosing what skillpoints you wish to use. But like I said, it matters on what you would like to do with you character. A battle warrior, A plunder pirate, or even a little both! Good Luck!!!
