What Happened to Port Royal??

I was sailing straight for Port Royal today...I could see it...then "poof" it disappeared into a pile of shale! I sailed straight throught the shale and rocks thinking maybe it was actually there but I wasn't seeing it. But nope. I turned me ship around and headed for Devil's Anvil then turned back to PR...still wasn't there. Finally on my third try the island reapppeared and I could dock me ship. Thanks goodness me ship health was in good shape!
