I am starting to wonder if they are going to be able to fix these two glitches. These two glitches being the two most popular glitches on the Abassa server, if not in the whole game. These two glitches seem to cause a lot of trouble to the main servers. Not to mention, every time that somebody gets crashed, the more that Pirates online is willing to try and stop the glitch.

I used to be a fan of these glitches, and don't get me wrong, glitches can be good. Though, if misused to level, and win fights unfairly, they deserve to be tooken out of the game. Hex-Eaters Shots may have been a way to get Gypsies and Other voodoo enemies weakened. But, at least they were not glitches that made enemies weaker. They were all good for leveling, and not an easy way to level, they helped in fights you could use certain weapons to weaken enemies.

Besides the Hex-Eater Shots were morely awards for not being able to fight navy soldiers with your pistol. They made up for time fighting with voodoo enemies rather than Navy soldiers.

Those glitches may cause a lot of trouble to get rid of, and I would be glad to see them go, but if Hex-Eaters don't work for them. LEAVE THE GLITCHES, we can deal with them for a while, as long as we can keep our hard earned points we put on hex shots.

Last night after a few days of Hard Pistol Work I got my Hex Shot :D Of course getting Hex is like having a Birthday at 21... its party time! It is the same when I got my Lighting Shot on the Cannon... its party time!

So Grabbing a new Tri-Barrel Gun, some Hex Bullets and a desire to take down a Gypsy.. I set off to Padres Beach in finding my "Test Subject"

(note to players - as it is still a Semi-Low Level Gun, I know I have to find a Gypsy that L23-24... anything higher and the gun will miss no matter pretty much what I fire at... remember, weapons more than 6-8 levels below your enemy plus Noriety = no hits ;) )

So I do the Beckett's Run, through El Sud (only on Gyp there, and hes L27... too high for my new Hex shots) and on to the Beach... where the PERFECT L23 is there all alone waiting for me to Hex-em :D

"POW-POW-POW" with the gun! I watch the Blue numbers rise with excitement... waiting for them to run out so I can get down to business! He does a Poke and a Swarm, which actually I do quiet well considering my Low L19 pirate has less than 900 HP and holding his own... "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! The last shot... there's no Blue Numbers! WOO! So I grab the Sword and go to hit him...

And he just kept right on attacking like nothing happened!!! BOGUS I SAY!!! "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! He pulls Life Drain? "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! STIL NO BLUE NUMBERS!!! He does curse... "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! He does Poke again and now I'm in trouble - but refusing to give up I tonic and back to full health -- "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! He Swarms, then Pokes (and still Cursed these are hurting more now) "POW-POW-POW" with the gun! he Pokes again, and I have to admit defeat... I run to Pete's...

I survived the attack, but didn't get to finish him off as I duck into my friend Pete's Gun Shop (Pete and me go way back and he's been in some of my videos) to 'discuss' the Gun Bug... he says he's getting A LOT of complaints.. but its not the bullets, just the bug...

So, they better fix that before the update - its already bad that there are limited options to level up after you finish the Main Story Quest (and I don't care how many side-quests they put in... everyone has to grind to 40 at some point, you need the Hex) but removing Hex makes this bullet WORTHLESS and the gun just a worthless if it isn't repaired...

Not all songs make good videos though (the 'wording' may be right - but the music may be wrong... and vice-versa) so don't be upset if I don't use it... with POTCO's camera limits one can only do so much. Send them along though!

Basically, all weapons once again are 'good to go' as even thoigh you still need a few more rounds of your favorite cannon shot to sink the NPS - they damage and sink much easier now (as Ironhawk has posted screenies in the General Section).

Thank goodness... I had some concerns about how Low Level Pirates would ever level up their sailing and cannon abilities unless in large groups... it was a road to a mess :)

The weapons are still pretty tight for SvS - but that isn't a bad thing considering the 'Lighting Light Sloop' Scenarios I described in my last blog... at least it make me want to use my War Ships again ;)

It has very little in the way of "game" in it but it gives a bit of background into the fantasy I've created for my role. I hope you like it...



I stand on deck and I hark back on the life that once was. I remember the simple things, the scent of fresh bread, porridge and tea wafting up to my bed chamber in the early morning hours, the sound of the boys racing through the kitchens with abandon, irritating cook all the while, the resounding tinkle of giggles that only mischievous boys can manage. I recall the scent of Daddy’s pipe when he had his first smoke of the day, right after breakfast yet before he read the local dailies. Mama would bring in whatever blossoms were in season, there was always a centrepiece freshly cut in the middle of our table and vases overflowing, all throughout the house.

Those were the days, those days were long gone. Daddy had fallen under taxes, a knot in his brain let go, he twitched, made horrendous faces and fell to the floor after he read the statements brought from the Governor by his own faithful solicitor. The Government broke Daddy’s brain and the rest of us were left alone to fend for ourselves in a cold and cruel world.

After Daddy passed the men came and took all of our things. We were shoved out in the streets, afraid and with nothing but our gunnysacks filled with reminders of what we used to be.

Mama found a boarding house willing to take us in on the condition that us children did the household chores and busywork and in that at least, we were fortunate, not so in other areas however.

Mama took to the workhouse, trying to earn enough coppers to feed five growing boys and myself, the only daughter. After many months of backbreaking labour, no sunshine and far too little rest, our beloved Mama fell ill. The doctor believed it was hard work mixed with poisonous chemicals, the Gypsy healer woman said it was more likely from a broken heart. Mama passed on to God, on a pallet by the kitchen stove, ash and cinders rising softly into the surrounding air. The landlady allowed my brothers and I to stay so long as we continued with our chores as we’d originally agreed.

We worked, slaved really, at the chores in that godawful house for over three years. The landlady took on a husband, if you can call him that, he was more of a bilge rat dressed in a lord’s coat. He tormented the boys endlessly and he tried to take liberties with myself. I would have none of it and I went straight to his wife. She took his side even though she said she believed me, I guess a husband, no matter how lecherous, is much more valuable than a lowly orphaned waif of questionable moral code.

We again found ourselves in the street, nowhere to turn, this time, without even our bags. The wretched man had kept it all saying it was rent for the time we’d spent sullying his home. I managed to keep Mama’s locket with a snippet of her hair braided with Daddy’s, locked safely inside.

Its good that Mama didn’t make it to see what we’d all eventually become and I’m ashamed to admit it even to myself at times. The ache in my belly most nights cannot even compare to the ache in my heart or the pain in my very soul, I miss our folks, more than I could ever tell.

Time passed, we did all we could simply to survive the endless days and nights, took on odd jobs to earn a pittance, made barely enough to put a cup of broth in each of our bellies before we bedded down for the long and lonely nights. We were always on the lookout for danger, sleeping in shifts within the caves or our makeshift lean-tos in the jungles and forests on the outer edges of the town. We did our bathing and washing in little pools infested with alligators and we spent our nights fending off giant scorpions and all manner of undead cretins. It was only a matter of time before we dropped airs and moved toward paths less dignified.

Jared and Joel, the middle sons, were destined to die buried alive in the black mines while the two eldest boys, Jeremiah and Joseph went straight to the gallows. They had chosen to raid the forts to try and make their fortunes. The Navy was unimpressed, the Governor even less so. The boys were sentenced to swing in the wind until they rotted, setting an example for any others who may not know their proper place. Only Jacob managed to get out of the hateful filth with which we’d found ourselves blackened, he went off to the colonies to take a career as a Trader’s manservant and he is quite successful as far as I have been told. I never hear from him now though, the travellers say that he’s since been enlisted but I can’t see my gentle baby Jacob wielding such violence as the Navy is wont to carry.

I went down another path, a path I believe to be honourable though many would tell you otherwise. I became an independant. I sail my ship, I fight for the things I need, I take from those who took from me. I have mates but never too close and never for very long at all. I trust only one and he will one day be my husband if we ever survive this war that we refer to as life. I sleep as I can and I’m on the move steadily, drudging away, trudging along, sword and pistol at the ready and with a few sweet Voodoo tricks hidden up my sleeve. I fire my cannons and its the only thing left that makes me feel alive.

I fight the men that put me here but I also have another cause, I fight the vile undead that plague the innocents, the other townfolk, the lost and downtrodden, because like me, they’ve had enough to contend with, fighting off the walking death is taking it all just a bit too far.

Once I was Catherine DeMournay, an unassuming and innocent girl of the world. That soft and sweet part of me was brutally murdered by vicious marauders masquerading as Government for the people.
